Agent role and access
An 'Agent' is a third party who has a basic level of access to TradeClear.
A ‘Principal Authority (Owner)’ or ‘Manager’ needs to invite an ‘Agent’ to act for a business in TradeClear., opens in a new tab
The ‘Agent’ role has a basic access level and can perform the following tasks:
- set and change notification preferences
- receive department notifications and messages.
You may be able to carry out more tasks for establishment registrations and export licensing if you are listed in management or control.

Job titles and TradeClear roles
Your assigned role in TradeClear may differ from your job title in the business.
An ‘Agent’ may work in a business as:
- a service provider
- an export agent
- a freight forwarder
- a trader.
Changing roles and access
If you can't do something in TradeClear, you may need to be assigned a different role.
