Obtain or view a web service token (installation token)

How to create or view a web service token (an installation token) to access NEXDOC with third party software.

When you need a web service token

A web service token is also known as an installation token. Some third party software uses this token to provide access to NEXDOC. 

If you’re a client group administrator, opens in a new tab for your team, you can apply to create web service tokens. Your client group members need these tokens to use the third party software.

Before you can obtain a web service token, you’ll need to register as a software installation administrator.

How to register as a software installation administrator

Follow the steps:

  1. Sign in, opens in a new tab to your TradeClear account.
  2. Select 'Export'.
  3. Go to ‘Businesses’ and select the business.
  4. Select ‘Export systems’.
  5. Select ‘Access NEXDOC’.
  6. Select ‘Add a NEXDOC service’.
  7. Select ‘Create web service users for your software installations’.
  8. Provide the reason for your request and select ‘Request access to this service’.

You’ll receive an alert in your NEXDOC inbox once your request is approved. 

Your software installation access will then become available in NEXDOC. You may need to sign out and sign in again after a few minutes.

How to obtain a web service token

Then follow these steps to create a web service token (an installation token):

  1. Sign out of TradeClear and sign in again.
  2. Select 'Export'.
  3. Go to ‘Businesses’ and select the business.
  4. Select ‘Export systems’.
  5. Select ‘Access NEXDOC’.
  6. Select ‘Manage web services users’.
  7. Select ‘Create a new token’.
  8. Enter a username in ‘Token description’. Choose a password. Select ‘Save’.
  9. The confirmation message will show your token installation number.

How to view your web service token

Follow the steps to view a web service token (an installation token):

  1. Sign in, opens in a new tab to your TradeClear account.
  2. Select 'Export'.
  3. Go to ‘Businesses’ and select the business.
  4. Select ‘Export systems’.
  5. Select ‘Access NEXDOC’.
  6. Select ‘Manage web services users’.
  7. Select your token. You’ll see the installation token number on the next page.

You’ll need to provide members of your client group with the:

  • web service token (installation token)
  • token password
  • client group token
  • client group ID
  • client token for that person (also known as a member token or client group member token).
