TradeClear FAQs for Importers
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to support importers using TradeClear.
What is TradeClear?
- Doing business with our department is about to become easier.
- TradeClear is a public website. It will provide a single access point for all Biosecurity import and export applications and services.
- You will only need to sign in once to access the authenticated (non-public) version of TradeClear. This means no more different login credentials or pathways.
Why is it needed?
- Until now, our exporters and importers have had to navigate a complex system with many entry points to finish tasks across different departments.
- The Biosecurity Portal has improved how our customer’s work. Now, we are going further. We will launch a single portal for both importers and exporters.
- Instead of using several entry points for departmental services and applications, TradeClear will simplify this experience for all customers.
- It will provide a better user experience and boost account features for our Biosecurity customers.
When will it be available?
- TradeClear will be in place from mid-2026.
What Biosecurity applications will have been onboarded to TradeClear by Go Live?
- The Biosecurity application in scope for our launch is the Approved Arrangements Management Product (AAMP).
- AAMP users will be onboarded from launch.
- For the Digital Exports Branch, the scope includes all applications that are integrated with the Export Service as of end June 2026.
Which Biosecurity users are in scope for Go Live?
- Users of AAMP are in scope for authenticated access.
- All other Biosecurity users are in scope for unauthenticated access.
What is authenticated and unauthenticated access?
- If authenticated access to a system or application is needed, then the person requiring access must prove their identity to gain access.
- Access to the authenticated components of TradeClear will require a user to sign in with either their email sign in or myID.
- New users will be required to create an account and verify who they are via Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Unauthenticated access refers to access that does not require you to tell us who you are. For example, the unauthenticated Landing Page can be accessed by any member of the public.
What is changing for me?
New Landing Page
- We are building a new Landing Page that gives you the option of choosing Export or Import links and applications.
- The new Landing Page for Imports will have a fresh look. It’s designed so that you can easily access the services you need.
- Whether you’re a current or new user, you can access the links you need from the public TradeClear Landing Page.
Account Re-branding
- Your Biosecurity account will be re-branded to your TradeClear account.
AAMP Users
- From launch, AAMP users can sign into their rebranded account to access AAMP.
- If this impacts you, please be aware that your account details will not change.
New Account Functionality
- The new TradeClear account will give you more account functions including:
- Single Sign On
- One time attribute collection
- Sign-in via myID or an email sign-in
- Support for signing in with a myID can be found here Portal support - DAFF, opens in a new tab
How will I be able to access my applications?
- Even if you don’t use AAMP, you can still access your applications via the new portal.
- From the TradeClear Landing Page, you can select to view either Export or Import and biosecurity services.
- By selecting ‘Import and biosecurity’ you will be taken to the Import and biosecurity page.
- Links to multiple biosecurity services and applications will be displayed on this page. Please select the service you want and access as per your current business process and authentication method.
- If you are an AAMP user, you can log into your account with either an email sign-in or myID.
- Once you have signed in to your account, you can access AAMP.
- You can also access other biosecurity applications but will need to credential separately.
What do I need to do?
- No action is required from you at this stage.
- Once TradeClear is launched, users of other biosecurity applications can link directly to that service until onboarding is complete.
What are the benefits?
Convenience
- From many websites to a single user interface or ‘front door’.
Efficiency
- Users can log-in once and then access their applications and services in a single session.
Enhanced User Experience
- Accessing services will be easier and simplified by fewer websites and sign-ins.
Improved Cyber Security
- The Authenticator App will strengthen our systems against future cyber-attacks.
New Account Functionality
- Single Sign-On (SSO) plus one time attribute collection (Tell Us Once)
- Users can link an ABN business to their Account through RAM. This won’t change how approved arrangement registrations are managed in BIIS-AA.
- Sign-in via myID or an email sign-in (credentialling choice)
- Users can manage their personal information and credentials within the Account
What future developments are planned?
